PvP Rules and Guidelines Full PvP only upon first being roleplayed! ***There always has to be a Role Played reason!!!*** ***Setting hostile is a must!!!*** - Always allow a person a Role Play OUT of a situation. Role-playing to show hostility is something that should generally be done before an attack on a PC (familiars and companions count as that). This could be something like *Draws sword* , *Grabs the hilt of his sword*, *Grips his staff tightly* or other phrases that show hostility, annoyance, anger or suspicion to allow the player you are interacting with to understand the situation is going towards PvP. This gives the other person a chance to use an IC (In-Character) action to avoid PvP with an OUT (flee, surrender, apologize, try and change the subject, divert etc.).
- By committing a crime and being seen by witnesses and running away you are auto consent to your crimes and are at the mercy of the player if they catch you.
If by chance you are caught and brought into authority (Flaming Fist or the Charnag Maelthra) then RP the consequences of your actions. Jail is not permanent - only temporary, as well as whatever fate happens if it is not jail. If Jail or RP at the mercy of your captives for crime and punishment are not to your taste then do not commit crimes within city limits or commit murder anywhere and be seen by a witness.
- Role-played Provoking, Taunting, Slandering, Bullying, offending or any *Action* used towards a player that is of the same lines is opening the door to provoked PvP consent and is grounds for PvP.
- Role-played hostile actions or words warrant PvP. If PvP is not your thing then do not place yourself in a situation that provokes PvP.
- Role-played Assassinations are a role-played reason so long as there is some IC background to it. This means one cannot just kill someone and say they were assassinated. He must have a prior contract with someone else IC and in game to back it up. Assassination is the only time that some sort of RP is not required before an attack.
RP should, however, be done afterwards to let the person know that it was not a random PK (Player Killed, Non rp'd attack). Example: *Stands above the body* "The (Organization) will be satisfied that I have killed this mark, now I will go claim my reward". The assassin must be able to provide proof in the case of the assassination having merit to its backing for a DM if the RP of it is out of hand, be this the name of the player or PC organization that put the mark on the player to be assassinated.
- Going Stealthed or Hiding in Plain Sight right in front of someone can be considered as being greatly suspicious and a hostile act of ill will that can warrant PvP. A way to RP this is upon leaving "I now go into the shadows"
<<Underdark versus Surfacers>> - Kill on sight goes for Underdark players on the surface and surface players within the tunnels of the Underdark (Excluding the city of Sshamath). Players outfitted head to toe having all aspects like skin, eyes etc.( this doesnt mean hoodies) covered must be RP'd into PvP as per the PvP rules. Talking, body language and things of the sort are discerned ONLY THROUGH ROLEPLAY . In order to figure out the Drow is in fact a Drow you must spend the time uncovering it through RP, not metagame use of the players Bio or the fact the name sounds funny. The same applies for Surfacers within the Underdark tunnels.
<<Spells and resting>> - Spell buffing, use of potions, wands, item powers and scrolls during a confrontation can be considered as a hostile action and consents to PvP.
- Resting to regain hit points, spells and abilities during a confrontation is considered as a hostile action. This follows since your character cannot rest while in a confrontational conversation and should have the same effect as trying to rest while hostiles are around, though its not scripted in game. It is an exploit to rest while in a confrontation.
<<Familiars, Companions, Summonings and Shapeshifting>> - Familiars and Animal Companions are considered the same as the player and RP must be used in the same manner as a player.
- Summons can be attacked on sight but RP must be used upon its summoner or the caster (The player) as per PvP rules. The owner of the Summons must also RP it out in order to attack the killer of his summons. (Summons are Devils, Elemental, Undead, Fey, Planar or any evil aligned creature summons.)
- Shapeshifting. While in this form you are perceived as what you have become and can be attacked upon sight without RP or explanation unless you revert back to your natural form or RP out that you are not a threat to the player that happens upon you in a shapeshifted form.
<<PvP aftermath>> - After PvP a character has amnesia, and does not recall what happened that led to his death. Who did it, why and what the opponent looked like is all erased from the character's mind.
- Avoid the player directly for a period of one day, unless a RP reason has been presented to you or permission has been granted to you to be present around the one you have killed or have been killed by. Permission is granted only by the player or players that were involved in your death.
- It is always good to take screen shots and send them to a DM if things are out of hand or are not RP'd meaning PvP Rules and Guidelines have been broken or violated. The PvP rules must be followed by all players and actions can and will be taken against violators!
