Take a look at this screenie:  My Journal says I have 9 troll hides, I have 9 troll hides in my inventory, but there is no option for me to turn them in. Huh?

That Quest was updated, you may need to dump those hides and go get them again, in the new quest the hides now stack.
And you may have spoke to the Tanner before the update. Try that if it does not work PM me and I will post it to be looked at in the staff section.

Half of them I got pre-update, and the other half I got this morning after the update. But the ones I got this morning aren't stacking (evidently).
Also, the trolls in the cave just outside candlebrook where not droping any troll hides for some reason, so I went to the troll place near BG that's past the fields of the dead and picked up the troll hides from there. Maybe those hides are marked as different and that's why he's not recognizing them? But if so, then why aren't the trolls near candlebrook dropping any hides?

hey i have the same problem please help me
i did the quest pre-update and i have the same problem...
the journal says i have the nine hides, but i dont have any... and i cant gather any new ones as the quest was not active
please could someone reset this for me... please....

Well I did the quest yesterday so I know the trolls near the keep drop hides.
Yes if you got hides from the northern trolls those are for the second Tanner Quest.

Ok, here is the deal. The hides that are given by the trolls now, are just put into your inventory. They don't drop on the ground. Also, they are different from the ones to the North. The hides you get up north, will NOT work for this quest. I will go in and make sure the quest is working right, but I did change it, so the old hides won't work anymore.

Yep. That was your problem. I completed the quest myself, as well as watched another player do it. You have the wrong hides for the quest. Have a DM reset that quest for you, then start over. Unfortunately, you had already gotten hides when the update went in. The new hides will stack, so you'll be able to tell.
