how do i even get to the place where i can create items....

When you are done with that, change the local name, resref, and template (?) name to something else. Be sure the ResRef is unique.

i cant seem to change the template to something other then what is on the list.

and i cant find this ResRef

please help

and if the DEV is interrested in some specific cloaked armor and color of it, i can also look into that. (blue & white breast plate. Red and green scale mail. etc) the one i had made (before it crashed) was a black full plate

Just copy a full plate armor.

Then click on the copy you made and bring up the property window.
There are a lot of tab in the property window.
Select the one on the far right. I forget the name of it. Maybe appearance?

Anyhow it should come up with a picture of the armor and options to edit it's appearance.

In that window you can change it's look to a robe, or any kind of armor using the option in the upper right hand corner that lets you select the look of the armor.

Or just go find a tutorial on the nwn2 vault.
There are a lot of them.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific,.. I'm at work and don't have the toolkit in front of me.

Hm. Well in item properties the resref should be there. I think you just have to scroll down near the bottom. To be sure I'd have to look. It's been awhile since I worked on items.

if there is interrest in getting this for the server, i can look into it again (kind of gotten away form it) but i would need to know what types of armors, and colors.... not to many, atleast not to begin with :)

This is not something that you will be able to do in the tool set. What you are suggesting will require a new model, as there is not one in the game that would support the bulky look you are trying to achieve. All you would be able to do in the tool-set is make a set of armor look like a robe, which can be accomplished in-game with the appearance changer.

3D modeling is something that I have never tried to do, so I can't help you any more than to point you at a few programs. Maya or 3DS are good apps for that kind of thing.

Blender is freeware 3D rendering, but it can be difficult to use. There is some support for this on the Vault.

My druid recently bought a brown dingy field robe.

It was in the scale mail appearance list.
