" Rumors spread across Baldur's Gate and the outlying farm, about a beast which has been hunting down farmers, cattle and all kinds of animals in the nearby area. Farmers speak of a giant wolflike figure lurking in the shadows at night, snatching a drunken or a dog and eating them alive. Sometimes leaving only blood steins and rags behind, somtimes an half-eaten corpse. So far four bodies have been found and three have been burned in fear of some infection caused by the beast. One was blessed and cured by a helpfull priest and the dead farmer recived a proper burial. The Flaming Fist has done all they can, but found no trace of the beast. Only this bodies. Caution is heeded for travelers crossing the lands at night and farmers lock they doors and windows tight against the dark. " (Note: DM led quest by DeathlessFigure. "Folks say yet another body was discovered by a group of people lingering near Jorn's farm the other night. Behind a barn, half-eaten like the rest of the bodies found. The current known victim count raises to five."

"More farmers go missing as the days go on. Three more bodies have been found and there's some talk of Lycanthropy around the area. People are making stories of the "Peasant's Devouer" who eats some alive and only bites some to spread this hideous curse, but so far none has seen the beast, only the dreadful bodies it leaves on it's wake.

*Maiele Iliathor investigates the murders. He goes to the murder scenes with his faithful animal companion Ellette. Ellette sniffs the scenes and the bodies. They go hunting into the night looking for the beast.*

Seadin contemplates the implications of all this. Possibly a ploy by the nobles too keep down the man? Nah that's just conspiracy thinking... Sounds like a were creature, probably drawn to the livestock and now with a taste for human blood. Sounds like a challenge. He pulls out his farming disguise deciding to take a stroll during a full moon.

Anderick, eager to help, suits up with simple clothes and follows Seadin's lead to lure out the beast.

Multiple notices are posted around Baldur's Gate and the Farmlands.
By Order of Lieutenant Kren,
There is a confirmed Werewolf presence in the farmlands. We are initiating a curfew for every farmer, restricting them to their houses once nightfall comes. Adventurers are to either stay in the city or cross the bridge out of the Farmlands. Every farmer will gather their animals in a fenced in enclosure and guards will regularily patrol the area.
We are aware that there are individuals out there who have been biten and know that they are cursed. You do not have to worry, if you report to the Fist Headquarters we can administer a cure, we can rid you of your curse.
Starting tomorrow, guards will travel to each house in the Farmlands and perform a mandatory inspection of each resident. They will be looking for bite marks. If any are found, they will be taken to the Head Quarters and be given some medicine that will free them from the curse.
Signed,
Lieutenant Myhun Kren

Three farmers were spotted raking hay at one of the farms late during the night and whistling a tune called Olde' Macdonald. Witnesses claim that these farmers looked similar to the adventurers that go by the names of Volomirror, Anderick and Seadin.... Witnesses were then heard saying that the farmers talked of some sister's badger and cursing out city folk for their mansions.

With a grunt Khazul spits the limbless torso on the crudely fashioned pike. Blood coats his greaves. The butchering has not gone easy. He has dismembered orcs cleaner than the piece of meat now impaled before him. Still, the bait should draw the quarry.
Of a more foul disposition than usual, the knight makes his way back to the hunters blind. Years of training and discipline have instilled him with patience, but these hours of waiting through the night with nary a hare stirring about – it wears upon his nerves. Yet the prospect of acquiring the hound, a beast to serve at his side……Khazul draws a breath, sighs forth frosty vapors, and continues his midnight vigil. The trap is set. Now to lure the beast, if indeed beast it be.
