Anyone tried it?

Thoughts? Opinions?

I've played it. I thought it was the stupidest thing I ever did with $60 (Fallen Earth was actually the stupidest thing I did with $60), especially when I played the Beta. When the server went down though, I actually tried the full version, got passed the introductions, and found I love the space battles. The game will auto group you in instances so you don't have to worry about messing with the LFG thing, and even when you don't get an auto group, you can help other players in their battles and no one has to worry about "taking other people's kills". I think that the enemies number and toughness goes up with the number of PCs in the area, so team work is important, and they made it easy which I really liked. One problem is the game runs terrible when I have detailed textures on, and I believe I have a pretty good computer, so I'm not sure what's up with the performance.

I'm still waiting for All Points Bulletin and The Old Republic, but I found Star Trek Online entertaining.

Thanks for the info, yeah I'm waiting for Old Republic too...might the only MMO that's made me want to pay 15 /month before it even came out.

Yeah, the KoToR games are good, Bioware seems to make good games, and it has a strong recognizable license, so I think it'll be the next big MMO.

The next big MMO will be Guild wars 2, unless Old Republic is freeplay.

Eh, c2k my theory is you have to pay to get quality. The Guild Wars system asks for it's income in different ways.

---

If you want a short description of Star Trek Online: I'm finding it rather entertaining (In small bites) but if you are really unsure about it give the MMO a few months to mature and wait for a free trail. Usually by then the Developers think that the game is polished enough to show to the mass "free loving" public.

I'm awaiting ABP. Always loved shooters, loved GTA and I love the character and car customization.

Back when I first witnessed many friends and coworkers losing their lives to MMOs, I made a personal vow to never, ever touch a subscription game.

I'd no sooner go back on this than I would start smoking tobacco
(never had a cigarette, never will)

That's my code and I'm sticking to it! :)

GUILD WARS TWO.

Now that I've got that out of my system, is the combat in Star Trek online turn based?

Any one got a link for a better explanation on combat?
